Celtic Dream Bonnet - Crochet Pattern Review - Charmed by Ewe

I only just started working again, and since I've been low on funds, I've decided to finish items in my WIPs bin, and pull out patterns I've purchased in the past and use up stash yarn. Last year, Charmed by Ewe had an eBook special on Ravelry that I purchased, and that's where I found this little Celtic Dream Bonnet so I worked up two, and the matching Boot Slippers.

Materials:
     - Small Amount of Worsted Weight Used - I used Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn in Dark Raspberry and Rosy Cheeks
     - H8/5mm Crochet Hook (as recommended)
     - I9/5.5mm Crochet Hook (as recommended)
     - Tapestry Needle
     - Celtic Dream Bonnet - Was available for free on Charmed by Ewe blog, and for purchase through Ravelry but has since changed copyright and not available at this moment. Link here is to Ravelry page where update will be hopefully.

Material Notes:
Yarn Alternatives: Deborah Norville's Everyday Soft, Red Heart's With Love

Time Spent:
I had my little bonnet ready in just over an hour.

Measurements:
Pattern contains instructions for Preemie through Child sizes. I worked up the 0-3 month size, which fits a 14-15" head circumference, 5.25" wide and 5.75" tall.

Gauge:
     With H8/5mm Hook: 14 SC by 16 Rows = 4"

Pattern Notes:
This pattern was very clearly written, and so easy to follow. Though I have never worked the Celtic Weave Stitch before, I did not have any issues following along with the written pattern and producing a hat that looked like the photos. Link is also provided to tutorial if needed - How to Crochet the Celtic Weave Stitch in the Rounds.

Aside from working the Celtic Weave Stitch for the first time, I was also introduced to the Alternate Turning Chain (alt-ch), which creates a nice, clean and even edge along the sides.

My little hat came out to be soooo cute! And I can't wait to pass it along to a newborn photographer to see it in action.

With so many size, yarn type and color options, I would love to see them! Please share your photos on my EyeLoveKnots Facebook page, or our latest Yarn Fanatic Party Link Up!
