Little Bubbles Dishcloth - Crochet Pattern Review - The Stitchin' Mommy

As a fan, follower and contributor to The Stitchin' Mommy, I enjoy the content in the weekly newsletter - which is where I found this fun Little Bubbles Dishcloth!

Materials I Used:
     - Small amount of Lily Sugar n Cream Ombre in Cool Breeze
     - I9/5.5mm Crochet Hook (as recommended)
     - #18 Tapestry Needle
     - Little Bubbles Dishcloth, Free Crochet Pattern

Material Notes:
Yarn Alternatives: Lion Brand's Kitchen Cotton, Bernat's Handicrafter, Hobby Lobby's Crafters Secret Cotton.
The yarn I used was part of a WIP so I am not sure how much of the skein was used, but the bobbles require more yarn than standard stitches so I am assuming one skein will only make one of these washcloths, and then maybe one basic one or some facial scrubbies.

Time Spent:
This dishcloth took me just over an hour to complete - longer than any other washcloth I have worked up.

8.25" Wide by 7.75" in Length

Pattern Notes:
I made my dishcloth larger than the original pattern by working a chain 25 for 24 stitches, and working 23 rows. The length did not come out quite as long as I wanted so I may add another row of bobbles to my next.

I noticed in the pattern that the majority of it is written in an alternating pattern so the bobbles don't fall in straight rows vertically, except Rows 9-10 which repeat the pattern from the previous bobble row. I continued to alternate mine though.

I worked a single crochet border - making sure to add three single crochets in each corner. I like the finished look of having a border, but I also found the dishcloth to be quite flimsy and did not hold it's shape well so the border helped.
Though this dishcloth is part of the kitchen series, I think this would make a great washcloth to gift in a set. I worked one of my Robin's Egg Washcloths in the Blueberry colorway and intend on adding to my shop as a set.

The kitchen series is all about learning new stitch patterns, or rediscovering stitch patterns you've forgotten. This bobble stitch pattern is a fun one, and would make a really fun scarf, blanket, pillow, etc. You can experiment with colors too and even work out a pixel design. The possibilities are endless.
