Forest Green Adult Beanie - Free Crochet Pattern

Since finishing my Roving Hat, pattern found here, I went back and restarted the non-roving hat. I ended up running out of the Red Heart Soft white yarn, so instead of buying another ball I just decided to make a new hat using the I Love This Yarn in Forest Green for the whole hat, with no strips this time.

-1 ball of worsted weight yarn (4) - I used I Love This Yarn in Forest Green
**This yarn is soooo soft! It's the closest I have found to the Deborah Norville's Everyday Soft yarn - which is my true favorite - but you get a little bit more in a ball.
-Size J10/6mm hook
-Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

ch - chain
sc - single crochet
ea - each
dc - double crochet (American, not British)
Sl St - Slip Stitch
St - Stitch

Measures to fit the average man's head - 23", and about 8.5" in length
*But can easily be made to any size! AND fits my head great!

*Pattern is worked in a continuous round so no joining at the end of rounds.

CH 4. Join to first ch to form a ring. CH 2, 12 DC into the ring.
Row 2: CH 2. 2 DC into the first DC, and in each DC around. (24 DC)
Row 3: CH 2. (2 DC into the first DC, 1 DC into the next DC.) Around. (36 DC)
Row 4: CH 2. (2 DC into the first DC, DC into the next 2 DC.) Around. (48 DC)
Row 5: CH 2. (2 DC into the first DC, DC into the next 3 DC.) Around. (60 DC)
Row 6 - 14: CH 2. DC into first DC, and in ea DC around.
Row 15: CH 2. DC into first DC, and in ea DC around to last two DC, HDC in second to last DC, SC in last DC.
Row 16: CH 1. SC in first DC, Sl St into next DC, CH 1, SC into same DC as Sl St, SC into next 59 ST. Join to first SC, (60 SC).

*For a woman's hat, you can:
     1.) Reduce the number of repeat rows from 14 to 13, to get a hat with a length of 8";
2.) Make all rows as is, and roll up the end.

My Roving set is, however,
up for sale! It is completely
customizable in any size from
infant to adult with several
color options! Check out my
Roving and Non-Roving Scarf and Hat post!
I did not put this roving
set up in my Etsy shop - I chose
to donate this set!
